as an ongoing effort to keep my journal updated, i am going to keep my journal updated!

walking to work this morning was gorgeous. it's muggy out but not overly hot yet, which makes it perfect heather weather™. the greens are lush, wildlife is out in full force, and the sky is beautiful. as an amazing addition, i heard cicadas for the first time today.

for those of you who do not know me well, i LOVE cicadas, i LOVE their songs, and every year i am incredibly excited when i first hear them. it is not summer to me until i hear cicadas.

so i heard cicadas today and my heart went doki doki. it put me in such a good mood, i am so happy to finally get to listen to cicadas!

now i am at work, and will be here for the rest of the day, which normally i'd be pissed about. fortunately, i heard cicadas and will be in a good mood all day.

after mistakenly purchasing a rename token but deciding to use it anyway, MY LJ USERNAME IS NOW SHRINES.

sooooo there's been this great drama going on in vegetarian the past few days, which ultimately culminated in a hostile takeover by militant vegans.

yes, really. a hostile takeover. on the internet.

20-SOMETHING BLACK MALE: (to HEATHER) damn, girl, i like your tights!
JESS, EMILY: ummm...
HEATHER: (awkward laugh) thanks!
20-SOMETHING BLACK MALE: mmhmm!

20-SOMETHING BLACK MALE passes the girls, leaving them to exchange looks. he turns around.

20-SOMETHING BLACK MALE: OW OWWWW!
HEATHER: ...

i got my swimsuit and IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!

nothing boosts your ego like getting clothes and seeing that they fit and make you look fantastic.



time to go to the shore! or, alternatively, someone needs to have a pool party.
